The Children’s Commissioner for England has published a report on age assessments of children seeking asylum following the 2009 Judgement that the Judicial Review Court should be the ultimate arbiter of the fact of age in disputed cases. Looks at whether the judgement has improved decision making in Local Authorities, how the JRC has adapted and whether outcomes have improved for children and young people. Both positive and negative consequences have been noted. |
