Home Office has paid compensation to 40 child asylum seekers

Following a Freedom of Information request, the Guardian report that the Home Office has paid compensation to 40 child asylum seekers who were wrongly detained as adults, and although government policy changed as a result of the case, unpublished statistics from the Refugee Council show this practice is still happening.
